Worldwide recognition for researchers of ML2R and its partners
June 10, 2021
Researchers from the ML2R network are among the “Most Influential Scholars” in the annual ranking of the online e-magazine AI 2000. Using computer algorithms, the AMiner system generates rankings based on citation frequencies in the most important publications for more than 250,000 renowned scientists.
In the category “Knowledge Engineering”, Prof. Dr. Jens Lehmann, Professor at the University of Bonn and Lead Scientist at Fraunhofer IAIS, took fourth place. In the “Robotics” field, Prof. Dr. Sven Behnke, Professor at the University of Bonn and Scientist at Fraunhofer IAIS, was listed under “Honorable Mentions”. Both scientists lead research groups associated with ML2R.
Dr. Natalia Andrienko and Dr. Gennady Andrienko, two proven experts in the field of Visual Analytics from ML2R’s partner Fraunhofer IAIS, are listed in 3rd and 4th place in the subfield “Visualization”.
The AI 2000 list, which selects the most influential scientists in 20 different subfields of Artificial Intelligence through computer algorithms, is one of the most important annual rankings of the AMiner platform. The latter tracks and analyzes over 250,000 scientists worldwide with well over 140,000 papers at conferences and in journals in order to create the rankings. According to the publishers, the lists are generated automatically using freely available data from the Internet over the last ten years (2011-2021) which is evaluated by using various parameters, such as citation counts of selected top publications.
