Online Event AI2GO: Automated Document Processing
October 13, 2020
On October 20, 2020, the competence platform KI.NRW in cooperation with the ML2R will present basics, methods and potentials of automated analysis and processing of documents. Within the framework of the compact, digital exchange format »AI2GO«, experts will provide insights into the research field of Cognitive Process Automation and show examples of its successful application in practice. The event is aimed at innovators and all those involved with the topics of digitization and document processing in companies.
How can workflows for document processing be automated? David Biesner and Birgit Kirsch, Data Scientists at Fraunhofer IAIS and the ML2R competence center, will answer this question. In their lecture »Fundamentals, Methods and Potentials of Cognitive Process Automation«, the two researchers present the basics of the technology and discuss application examples that have already been successfully implemented in various companies.
Cognitive Process Automation (CPA) refers to tools and methods that use Artificial Intelligence to automate originally manual processes for analyzing and processing documents. CPA can be used wherever the understanding of images, texts or language is a central component of work processes. The advantages of automation lie in the accelerated processing of documents, reduced susceptibility to errors and the relief of employees from highly repetitive tasks. All industries and business areas in which many documents have to be processed benefit from the use of the technology, for example, the finance and insurance industries as well as public authorities and legal departments.
The online presentation will take place on Tuesday, October 20 from 09:00 to 10:30 am. The event is part of the »AI2GO« series, a digital exchange format of the competence platform KI.NRW, in which companies and in particular medium-sized businesses from North Rhine-Westphalia can obtain information on the use of AI. This month’s presentation is held in cooperation with Fraunhofer IAIS and the Competence Center Machine Learning Rhine-Ruhr ML2R.
