February 11, 2021
Prof. Dr. Katharina Morik and Prof. Dr. Stefan Wrobel, speakers of ML2R, are contributing to this year’s conference of the “Plattform Lernende Systeme”, Germany’s platform for Artificial Intelligence. The conference on the topic “AI is now. Seizing opportunities – shaping development” will take place virtually on February 23, 2021, starting at 10 am.
The “Plattform Lernende Systeme” (PLS) is organizing the conference to provide a forum for representatives from politics, research, business and society to discuss the potentials and challenges of Artificial Intelligence. The focus will also be on the safe and responsible use of AI systems.
The opening will be followed by a discussion on the topic “AI is now: Where does Germany stand in the AI competition?”, in which Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister of Education and Research and Chair of the PLS, will also participate.
In addition, conference participants will have the opportunity to choose between parallel sessions. Panel discussions will focus on current key topics: the design of trustworthy AI systems, the development of competencies in science and industry, and the implementation of new data-based business models.
Prof. Dr. Katharina Morik, co-leader of the PLS working group “Technological Enablers and Data Science”, is a participant in the panel discussion: “AI and Data Science – What competencies do tomorrow’s top researchers need?”. Prof. Dr. Stefan Wrobel will moderate the panel discussion: “Trustworthy AI Systems – How does certification strengthen trust in AI systems?”.
Participation in the conference in virtual format is free of charge. For more information and a registration link (in German), please see the announcement of the “Plattform Lernende Systeme”.
