In the latest issue of the Handelsblatt Journal “Artificial Intelligence”, Prof. Dr. Katharina Morik addresses the question: How do we achieve AI excellence in Germany? In a guest article, Morik calls for the expansion of AI professorships as the foundation for the systematic strengthening of AI competence centers.

In her guest article for the Handelsblatt Journal “Artificial Intelligence”, ML2R spokesperson Prof. Dr. Katharina Morik has called for the strengthening of German AI research through additional professorships. According to Morik, this is the only way to continuously strengthen strong and internationally visible research centers. In this context, she highlighted the role of the German AI competence centers, of which she is the coordinator. ML2R and five other competence centers do not only conduct internationally leading research in the field of Artificial Intelligence, but also drive the transfer of cutting-edge research to industry as well as the international networking of research institutions.
